The Federation of International Civil Servants' Associations (FICSA) is pleased to announce that a two-day staff representative training workshop on “Collectivizing Single Issues and Handling Casework” will be held at the International Maritime Organization in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">London</st1:place></st1:city> on 2 and 3 November 2011. The workshop will be conducted in English by an experienced trainer from the UK-based Trades Union Congress (TUC).

This course will enable staff representative to identify issues in individual cases which would make suitable topics for collective negotiations or grievances. It would establish a process for recording casework and tracking progress and lead to the creation of a database for use by other union/association staff representative to assist in their own casework.

The workshop is free-of-charge for staff representatives of FICSA dues-paying member organizations (full and associate). 

A fee of CHF 400 per person will be charged to all participants from a non-FICSA organization.

A reduced fee of CHF 350 per person is charged when two or more participants are enrolled from the same organization and duty station.

The Workshop timetable, along with information on hotel accommodation, will be sent directly to the participants upon confirmation of their participation.

The number of participants is limited to 18.  Therefore, it is advisable to register well in advance of the deadline.

ALL TRAVEL-RELATED EXPENSES AND DSA MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE INDIVIDUAL STAFF ASSOCIATION/UNION OR ADMINISTRATION.  FICSA cannot provide any financial assistance in this respect.
