Agenda

Deadline for applications: 21 August 2017

FICSA has organized, with the kind assistance of the local WHO Country Office, two half-day English-speaking workshops on pension issues to take place in Accra, Ghana, on 5 or 6 September 2017. Both sessions will take place in the morning and will be conducted by a FICSA resource person.

The workshops are open to staff representatives and participants irrespective of their duty station of assignment and will run from 09h00 to 12h00 on both days. Afternoons will be devoted, upon request, to individual appointments.

Workshop programme

Both courses are the same and are intended to raise staff awareness on the following aspects of the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF):

  • Overview of the structure of the UNJSPF
  • Governance of the UNJSPF
  • Participation
  • Pensionable remuneration
  • Validation
  • Restoration
  • Retirement benefits
  • Calculation of benefits
  • Local track – pros and cons
  • Please note that these workshops are offered free-of-charge for staff from FICSA dues-paying members.*
  • A fee of CHF 100 is charged for other participants, including staff representatives from non-FICSA member organizations.
  • A 30% discount is applied to FICSA members with consultative and observer status.

The above issues would therefore be extremely useful to staff representatives who would then be better positioned to reply to queries from their constituents.
