The President of WIPO Staff Association delivered today a statement to the Coordination Committee which is the legislative body of WIPO under its constitution adopted by Member States.
It should be noted that the President of WIPO Staff Association was not allowed to deliver the statement until the Coordination Committee had closed all items of the agenda. Consequently major decisions which would have negative impact on staff, before the Fifth Committee even considers the outcome of the compensation package, were adopted before the duly-elected staff representative could provide views and concerns.
It should also be noted that the situation at WIPO was also addressed in a statement presented by FICSA at the recent session of the HLCM held at the IMO in London on 5 October (ref. FICSA/CIRC/1209).
