Former colleague, Wayne R. Dixon, passed away on 2 May 2016.
Wayne was elected President of FICSA for two consecutive years in 1995 and 1996, prior to which Wayne had also served on the FICSA Executive Committee as Member for the Americas from 1991 to 1993 and then as Vice-President from 1993 to 1995.
Wayne was a charismatic President with a style of his own. During his tenure of office he strove endlessly to promote recognition of the work of the Federation and to defend staff interests. In 1997, shortly after his term of office, Wayne took a well-deserved retirement, leaving behind him 38 years of loyal service at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal where he was highly appreciated for his hard-work and dedication.
On behalf of the Federation, the FICSA Executive Committee would like to extend its sincerest condolences to Wayne’s family and friends. Thoughts are with them during this very difficult and sad moment.
