Deadline for applications: 2 November 2018

Reference is made to our email of 26 June 2018 informing the membership of the postponement of the above-mentioned seminar from June to November 2018. The date has now been confirmed and it will now be a one-day seminar to take place on 15 November at the ITU in Geneva (3rd Floor, Room G3).

The seminar, which will be presented in English, will be by chaired by Miranda Brown, who will be joined by other experts on UN whistleblower protection. The seminar will consider the existing whistleblower protections across the UN common system, identify the major protection gaps, and discuss options for addressing them. The seminar will also focus on practical advice and support staff representatives could give to whistleblowers in their organizations.

This seminar is free-of-charge. General information, including recommendations on hotel accommodation, will be sent directly to the participants along with the confirmation message.

Nominations should be signed by the President/Chair of the local staff association/union and sent to the FICSA Secretariat ficsa(at)un.org by no later than the above-mentioned deadline. Seats are limited and will be confirmed on a first-come first-served basis, irrespective of the duty station of assignment. It is therefore advisable to register well in advance of the deadline.

ALL TRAVEL-RELATED EXPENSES AND DSA MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE INDIVIDUAL STAFF ASSOCIATION/UNION OR ADMINISTRATION.
