The Federation of International Civil Servants' Associations (FICSA) has organized, with the kind assistance of the IAEA Staff Association in Vienna and the generous support of the IAEA Administration, the following workshops:

· 28 November: Mediation· 29 and 30 November:  Occupational health and safety Both workshops will be held at the following address:

IAEAVienna International Centre (VIC)5, Wagramer StrasseA-1400 Vienna

and will be conducted in English by an experienced trainer from the UK. Meeting room details will be communicated directly to the participants.

Workshop programme

The first 1-day workshop on mediation will cover the following main subjects:

· What is mediation – How it applies in the workplace· An introduction to the principles and processes of workplace mediation· How to establish the boundaries of workplace mediation· An introduction to mediation skills.

The second two-day workshop on occupational health and safety will address both physical and psychosocial work place issues and will cover the following list of topics:

· Stress and anxiety – what it means for staff and organizations · Bullying & harassment · Safety and security (with a focus on field contexts; risk of gender-based violence) · Physical and mental health promotion, including access to health services · Accident & incident investigations · Organizing for greater attention to staff health and wellness· Respectful workplace· Mental health (based on the attached guide from 2011: Managing and supporting mental health at work: disclosure tools for managers).

Participation fees

Please note that these workshops are provided free-of-charge to staff representatives from FICSA dues-paying members* A fee of CHF 200 is charged for other participants, including staff representatives from non-FICSA member organizations for the workshop on mediation and a fee of CHF 400 for the 2-day workshop on occupational health and safety.

For FICSA members with consultative or observer status (from organizations not listed in the footnote), a 30% discount will be granted on the total amount: 

Accommodation and general information

Participants will receive, upon confirmation of their participation, a general information document which will include recommendations on hotel accommodation.

Please complete the attached application form before the above-mentioned deadline.

Seats will be confirmed on a first-come first-served basis, irrespective of the duty station of assignment. Therefore, to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to register well in advance of the deadline. It is important to note that filing an application to participate in this workshop does not imply an automatic acceptance.  You are therefore kindly requested to wait for the official confirmation before making any travel arrangements.

All travel-related expenses, including DSA, must be funded by the individual staff association/union or administration. FICSA cannot provide any financial assistance in this respect.
