74th Council pre-meetings are underway!​​​​​​​ 

Meetings will resume on 6th of January onwards. See the Calendar of meetings and agenda here.

• The Standing Committee on Social Security and OSH met on 7 December.
• Amongst other topics, FICSA members discussed progress made by the UN Implementation Board on the Mental Health Strategy and highlighted the surge in mental health issues at a time of pandemic and fast changing working arrangements. See the full agenda here.
• The UN Mental Health webpage contains useful resources on self-care, supporting others, and resources for leaders and managers who play an essential role in ensuring that the UN System supports good mental health.  
• The Standing Committee on Staff Management Relations had the first session on 8 December, and will resume on 15 December. (See the full agenda here)
• The Standing Committee on Professional Services and Allowance discussed how remote working and agile contractual modalities would impact the international character of the international civil service. See the full agenda here.
• The Standing Committee on Field issues presented on an important but often overlooked staff entitlement - Medevac (Medical Evacuation), and discussed the hardship classification of duty stations in the UN system. See the full agenda here.
